Nineside Co. is a West Melbourne-based clothing brand founded in 2024 by Jamayne Taunoa-Brown, also known as Yung Maynie. Born and raised in Melbourne's West, Maynie is a proud Kaurna and Narungga man with Māori roots from Ngāti Kahungunu. A former professional NRL player for the NZ Warriors, St George Illawarra Dragons, and North Queensland Cowboys, Maynie turned to music as a rap artist after retiring from football due to injury. Nineside Co. represents more than just fashion—it embodies a story of resilience, empowerment, and community. Inspired by Maynie’s personal journey and the rich culture of Melbourne's West, particularly the 3029 postcode, this brand is about much more than clothes. It’s about bringing together individuals who share a desire to overcome adversity, break generational cycles, and create a brighter future.
